Anyone Else Using AI to Create a Schedule to Fit It All In?

1st Job, 2nd job, cooking, cleaning, shopping, kids, laundry, home repairs, school, family obligations... the list goes on and on. Who's fitting it all in? Not this girl.
I decided to give ChatGPT a chance to see if it could come up with a schedule for me to fit in everything that I wanted to do. Here's what I found. You need to get specific, VERY specific.
Apparently, ChatGPT thinks that you can teleport to work and that you don't need any commute time. It also thinks you can shower and get ready in 20 minutes. That's a lofty goal. Here's a sample of what it gave for my morning routine:
Morning Routine (6:00 AM - 9:00 AM)
6:00 AM - Wake Up
Stretching and brief meditation (10 minutes)
Workout (1 hour, can include a class 2-3 times per week)
Shower and get ready (20 minutes)
Prepare and eat a healthy breakfast (20 minutes)
Quick house tidying (10 minutes)
Looked good to me until I realized that I was better at math than the AI (And this girl is not a math wiz).
So I added a few more instructions to get a better outline. Listen, AI is not perfect and it's not going to give you exactly what you want, but it did come up with some general ideas that I really liked.
For example, I work a part-time job, so it gave me alternate ideas for work nights vs. non-work nights. It also offered some helpful suggestions on planning and prioritizing and even assigned themes to my days.
I'm not telling everyone that they need to use AI to come up with a plan, but if you're looking to fit it all in, it's a great way to start with a nice customized template.
Here's a few tips to think about to make a routine that works for you:
Consider when you have the most energy
Schedule the tasks that you don't want to do or are most important to you during those times. For me, this means avoiding sitting in front of the computer during that mid-afternoon slump around 2pm. Or if I have to be in front of my computer, I'll make sure that I'm getting up and tackling some physical activity every 30 minutes or so (think folding a load of laundry or putting the dishes away).
When do you have the most free time?
It seems obvious but if you're working an 8-hour day in an office, chances are that you might not be able to fit in working out (although maybe you can if you get creative and go on a walk during that 15-minute break instead of sitting in the break room looking at the donuts that someone brought in that day. Again, be mindful that your free time doesn't infringe upon essential activities like sleeping.
Sleep is important
If your priorities are to have a lot of energy and feel good, I would not recommend planning activities during your sleep time. In fact, you're going to want to incorporate some time to wind down before you go to sleep so that you can feel well-rested in the morning and ready to tackle the next day. This might mean that you need to move some of your activities to the weekends.
Theme days
I love this idea because it allows you to focus on one thing per day instead of trying to spend 10 minutes on each activity. And who's to say that your theme days have to be the same each week? Maybe Sundays don't work for you to do your shopping and meal prep, pick another day. There is no wrong answer. This is your schedule. Be sure to include some time to set your goals and plans for the week and choose a day to assess your progress. I recommend doing this midway through in case you need to make any adjustments.
Time for fun
Do not forget to pencil in some time to do things that you enjoy. Life is way too short to spend every waking minute on things that don't bring you joy.
